Our 9 Year Wedding Anniversary – Birch
If you follow up on instagram stories you probably got a few snippets of this fun day. And looking back on this now, we will definitely be visiting this post often. We did a quick poll between the two of us, for which of our anniversary celebration was our favorite thus far, and this was it!
Each year we follow the traditional gift for anniversaries, but in a non traditional way. Instead of just buying a gift, we plan an activity that revolves around it. This year I (Anya) took on planning the activity, and Jimmy took planning dinner reservations. The 9th year anniversary traditional gifts is BIRCH- so after some thorough Googling, I landed on WoodCraft in Woburn Mass. Settled within an industrial park, they run woodworking classes and it seemed like the perfect fit. Unfortunately, there weren’t any classes on our exact date, so with a little back and forth, we booked a private class for pen making for the weekend that followed. To our surprise, the amazing instructor, went out of his way to find birch wood for us to use! Making this whole experience even more special. The class was a total of 3 hours and more challenging that we anticipated! We loved being there, spending time together, and creating something that we will cherish for year to come. Once we sculpted our pens, we could burn in and customized each pen by etching 9 lines for 9 year of marriage into them. Corny? Maybe… but also cute!
We had our associate photographer join us for the second half of the class to capture the fun. After the class ended we strolled that same industrial park for some much needed photos of us and a little maternity session. With 3 kids, the cameras are loving them way more nowadays, so being able to have photos of just the two of us is so rare. We can’t thank Nadya enough for these!
