Wedding Day Survival Kit | 15 Must Items
The day has finally arrived. You’ve spent months meticulously planning each detail, the guest list is set, and it’s time to say, “I do.” However, amongst the flurry of emotions and excitement, there are a few forgotten essentials that we recommend every bride and groom have on hand for their big day. Whether if it’s for a quick stitch on a hemline or a pesky flyaway hair, these are our suggestions for your very own Wedding Day Survival Kit. So grab a bag, pack it up with the following goodies, and make sure your wedding day is a total success! You’ll thank us later ?
- Tissues: This seems like a no brainer, but you definitely want to make sure you have plenty of tissues on hand for those inevitable tears of joy.
- Mints or Gum: After champagne in the bridal suite, make sure your breath is minty fresh for that pivotal kiss!
- Bobby pins: Whether you’ve hired a hairstylist or you’re doing your own hair, you can truly never have enough of these little guys on hand.
- Band-Aids: We know, you swear your shoes are broken in, but you can never be sure! We want to make sure you can dance the night away.
- Flip-flops or cute sneakers: Band-Aids not doing the trick? Bring a pair of back up shoes just in case so you can thoroughly enjoy the dance floor and keep your feet happy.
- Sewing kit: Loose threads, buttons on their last string, you never know what garment mishaps you may have.
- Scissors: If your mini sewing kit doesn’t come with a pair, pack some scissors for a few quick snips of loose threads, hanger straps, or unsightly tags.
- Sunscreen: Whether you’re having a summer wedding or not, protect your skin from the sun! We love shooting outdoor sessions, but we want to make sure you stay safe too.
- Blotting paper: If you are having a summer wedding, these are a must. They won’t remove your makeup and they’ll ensure your skin stays flawless.
- Eyelash glue: Sometimes we need a little touch up to make sure those eyelashes are secure.
- Mini First Aid Kit: Something borrowed, something blue should not include bruises. Weddings come with their own set of hazards so make sure you’re prepared just in case!
- Phone charger: While you did hire a photographer to document the wedding, a handful of wedding day posts is completely expected. As well as the multiple phone calls from family members. And the Facebook notifications. And the weather updates. Needless to say, your phone is gonna need a little extra juice, so be sure to pack a charger.
- Acetaminophen: For any aches and pains, it’s good to have some on hand. And it’s easy on the stomach.
- Tampons/Feminine products: We can’t predict Mother Nature always and it’s always better to be safe than sorry! Plus, your outfit is presumably white.
- Tide to Go Stick: Speaking of white clothes, make sure they stay white! With all the festivities, it’s easy to attract a measly stain.
Of course, there are many more things to add to your kits beyond what we’ve listed here. Each wedding has its unique needs, but we hope this general list will help you prepare for you big day and make sure you have everything in order!
