Favorite Honeymoon Locations

Planning a wedding often feels like a full time job, with so many details and logistics to attend to. Often our brides & grooms forget about their own honeymoons in lieu of planning the perfect nuptial, as the idea of a post-wedding world exists as some distant reality. While planning the wedding can be stressful, we certainly don’t want you to start from scratch for your honeymoon! We asked our brides to share what their favorite honeymoon spots were and we hope this list gives you some inspiration to plan that perfect vacation!

If you’re looking for a tropical getaway, Bali, Belize, and Hawaii are definitely places to put on your shortlist. A perfect combination of relaxing and adventure, enjoy the beach, hop on a boat, and even snorkeling! One of our brides said that this was the “perfect combo,” of rest and plenty of excursions to choose from. So perhaps, tropical is the way to go!

Europe is a popular honeymoon destination for good reason. It is easy to travel from country to country, either by plane, train, or car. You’re able to experience a multitude of cultures and traditions without traveling far distances. Whether it’s tours of the Guinness Factory while bundled in wool sweaters in Ireland, enjoying sunsets in Santorini in Greece, or traversing the wine country of Italy, Europe has so many different types of experiences just a quick train ride away from one another.

The last recommendation we received was definitely our most daring. One of our couples went to Tanzania, visiting ancient craters and even “glamping” in the Serengeti! With the upcoming Lion King movie, why not witness these animals in person? Lions, elephants, cheetahs, zebras, hippos, you name it, the safaris in Tanzania are once in a lifetime opportunities.

Of course, your honeymoon does not need to be an extravagant vacation. Some couples choose staycations, cross-country road trips in a rented RV, backpacking trips, or even just weekend getaways to the Cape. Your honeymoon should reflect your sense of adventure and vacationing as a couple.

While the wedding might be over, the adventure is just beginning! From tropical destinations to European adventures, we hope this list helps you start to figure out what kind of honeymoon you want to go on. It’s your first vacation as a married couple, so definitely plan something that is uniquely you!

Special Thanks to our amazing brides for sharing the experience and photos with us 🙂
