Best locations for your engagement photos in Boston

We are often asked what our favorite places in Boston to shoot engagement sessions. Our couples want to know which places are better than others. Living in Boston we are torn in deciding our favorite because we’re surrounded by so much gorgeousness. So, no, we don’t have just one favorite place, but we’d love to share a few places we think are stunning.
1) Arnold Arboretum – Peters Hill
The Arnold Arboretum (Peters Hill side) is a recent discovery for us. We’ve been there a hand full of times but it wasn’t until recently that we had shot an engagement there. The combination of nature, amazing light and the Boston city skyline that made us fall completely in love with this location. There is a certain way the light comes in through the park that makes this place a keeper. Peter's Park-3

2) Christopher Columbus Park

Christopher Columbus Park is centrally located in Boston and right on the waterfront. It’s probably the number one spot we shoot at because of it’s location and it has it all. We can capture city views in one shot, a waterfront shot with just a 180° turn and still finish things off with a charming pergola greenery shot. We are always looking for that perfect light while shooting and the openness here makes it a prime location.

3) Beacon Hill

When we’re thinking old New England charm, the first place that comes to mind is Beacon Hill. It may be cliche but Acorn Street in Beacon Hill is one of the most beautiful streets in Boston. It’s one of those places that’s just romantic to walk around. There’s an array of old streets and back alleys that can make any picture look different and unique. The streets are paved with original cobblestone that transport you to another time and place. Our favorite time to shoot in Beacon Hill is around sunset, when the gas lantern street lights are just beginning to glimmer and the most amazing backdrop comes to life.

4) The Esplanade
Summer time in Boston means going to the Esplanade with our kids and having a picnic while we watch the sun set right over the Charles River. We have seen some of the prettiest sunsets here and have been lucky enough to capture it’s beauty on engagement shoots. The way the light comes in over the water and through the trees can take any picture to the next level. The Esplanade is a romantic setting for proposals and engagements because of versatility and vibrance. The trees, sail boats, cozy benches and sunsets all make for an enchanting moment.
